Tacx Bike Smart at 2K Miles

I moved to indoor riding full time last spring and acquired the Neo Bike, or whatever it's called these days. I've put 2K miles on it and so far..no complaints or issues. It's solid, quiet, consistent, connects every time, and has plenty of adjustments. Two observations: when I was shopping around for an indoor ride I took a look at a few reviews. The DC Rainmaker review was very comprehensive, as always, but there are two things he pointed out that, I believe, have been remedied with a hardware change. The first was the method used to connect pedals. The original method involved some spacers and a single hold on the crank. I never tried it, but it looked kind of clumsy. The second was thigh rubbing. When I received my unit the first thing I noticed was the pedal attachment. It's now a "Wahoo" style with three holes for different crank lengths. Very nice. Additionally, it appears (just a guess...) that the cranks have a slight offset to increase the Q distance which alleviates the thigh rubbing. I can only report that it's not an issue for me.

Anyway, after nearly a full season on this unit I can give it a full recommendation. It just works.

It's a "Smart Bike", not a "Bike Smart".

Garmin disagrees: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/690885

Yes, it is a smart bike, but I was referring to the actual product name.

Nah, the "Smart" goes with the "Trainer" that immediately follows it not the "Bike" that precedes it.

The title on the page you quote is "Tacx Neo Bike, Smart Trainer". I put the comma in to delineate the part that is the title of the item from the part that is the description of the item.

Uh, the product name is Tacx Bike Smart Trainer, NO comma. It's their product, not yours. They name it, not you or I. Yes, it's a "smart bike," no arguments. But, as I said, I was referring to the product name, not the category of the product.

Read the link that you posted. It's a Tacx Neo Bike. That's the kind of smart trainer it is. A Tacx Neo Bike smart trainer. Not a Tacx Neo 2T smart trainer. Not a Tacx Flux smart trainer. At Tacx Neo Bike smart trainer. Just read the link and admit when you're wrong.

These are all of their smart trainers. How do I know? Because I clicked on the link entitled "Smart Trainer". None of them end their name in smart.

I did read the link. Did you? Read the first four words out loud, and then admit *you're* wrong! You don't get to add commas. Nope. You don't.

I will concede that, in that location, they call it a Neo Bike Smart. Many advertisements that I've seen, simply call it a Tacx Neo Bike smart trainer with the s lower case implying it is a description. On the other hand, I have never seen it called a Tacx Bike Smart as you do in the title because that is not something that exists. It is a Tacx Neo Bike Smart (or to be generic a Tacx smart bike).

It sounds dorky if you omit the word Trainer. A bit like saying you had a Phone Smart.

No arguments there. But it's their product, not mine, so they get to give it a stupid name.

Yes, but in return you were educated and entertained.
