I have a circa 1990 Bottecchia Team ADR bicycle which has been in my garage for 20+ years and never used since I acquired it, and so am considering putting it up for sale. From what I can tell it is a 46 Columbus SL with Shimano 105 components.

I am hoping those more experienced with these bicycles can shed some additional light on this particular model, and perhaps provide me with an estimated value.

All I can say is that's a lovely Bottechia!

Being on the smaller side might hurt the price a little.

In the SF Bay Area I could see a price tag of $1200 asking. What offers might come in could be something else though..

If it was me, and it fit I would ride the heck out of it.

I’d say maybe half that, $500-600 max. These came in multiple levels of tubing and component quality, if I recall correctly this was one step up from the basic (Aelle) one.
Owned one of these years ago, pretty sure it was TSX or SLX with a Campagnolo group with Century (graphite) finish.
In nice shape, but really no different from the dozen or so 1050 equipped bikes that came out at the same time.

...they came in Aelle, Cromor, and this SL tubing frame. I've never seen an SLX, one. But I guess it's a possibility. I've owned the two lesser models in my size (which is bigger than this one), and they are pretty nice riding bikes. But yes, prices are somewhat depressed for this sort of bicycle currently, so your estimate is probably a good benchmark for a local sale. It is kind of on the small size. Bottecchia seems to have continued making and selling this steel framed bicycle for a number of years, as their team replica. But they had that recent factory fire, so who knows what's going on with them now.

+10 I haven't seen a 105 DT shifter bike bring that top number. Its a fine bike, but it is under-equipped, given the quality of the frame. I would search your nearby C/L by price, do $800 to $1200 first, then $400 to $600, that will give you a feel for the competition.

In the end, frame plus headset plus seat post could be equal to the value of the bike complete. As a minimum, buyer may swap out the remaining 105 bits and replace with 600.

I bought one of these new in 1988 or 89 for around $1,050. It was also Columbus SL, but came with graphite Campy Athena components and Campy wheels. Mine was in great condition with really no paint loss/chips to speak of, and in a more marketable size (54cm). And while the Campy stuff probably doesn't perform any better than the Shimano on your bike, it's generally more desirable/valuable. I sold mine locally on CL in a good market (Boston area) about ten years ago. It was listed for at least a few weeks if not more and I was happy to get $650 for it.

Agree with rccardr about price ($500 ish), and wrk101 is always spot-on with knowledge/advice.

After looking through my files, dug up the ADR replica I had several years ago. It was, indeed, SL. Originally came with the Century finish Athena components (which were sold to a buyer in SE Asia) which were replaced with pretty much NOS Dura Ace 8 speed. I think this one sold for about $1000 in 2018 when the market was hot.

Bottecchia did sell some upscale SLX frames, however. This 88 Team Record was SLX:

Tektro RL200's. Early editions with the straight lever blades. Now out of production.

I owned one for a very short time. Got a good deal on it and it was in extremely good shape. It was wearing a full Shimano 600 Tri-Color group. Being a tad too small for me I decided to pass it along and it was one of the nicest experiences I've had selling a bike. The purchaser was a younger man, possibly college age or maybe just beyond, but he was tickled to death to acquire it. I don't remember many of the transactions honestly, but I do remember him and the smile. The bike was beautiful, no doubt.
