Zwift Hub at a set resistance?

I got a Zwift Hub, is it possible to set it to a certain resistance and just spin, versus using an app like Zwift to follow a route? For example, set to 100 watts and just spin while I watch a movie on TV, which I really like doing?

Thanks!

you shoiuld be able to since i believe it follows the ant+ protocol spec. you just need a head unit to tell the trainer to do that. you can try using the wahoo app on your pohone. it is free.

It seems like you could find/make a workout that puts your bike in erg mode for a long time at a consistent power that you like.

The easiest way to do this is within Zwift. Make a custom workout set to whatever wattage you want. Use the trainer in ERG mode and it'll keep you at that wattage.

How to Build a Custom Cycling Workout - Instructions | Zwift

You can still watch a movie on the same device that is running Zwift - just have it run in the background.

If you want to gain extra xp, instead of making it one long workout block at whatever W, you can make it a whole lot of 1 minute blocks of that power. If you're able to stay within range of that power, you get xp for each block you complete.

Thanks for the replies!

I found out that my Edge 1030 can control my Zwift Hub. I'm sure you all know this, but to me this is so cool!

Under Training on the Edge I can do Garmin workouts, choose a set resistance or watts (ERG mode), and even follow a route that I have saved in Garmin or one I previously rode.

Hopefully next I will find out that there is a way to record a ride with a GoPro and show it as I ride on the trainer!

Did not know that!
As an added bonus, do this while riding up Ven-Top or Alpe du Zwift and gain max elevation towards the tron bike.

Possibly Kinomap might let you do this. Record a ride, then upload the footage plus the GPS from your Garmin, then let you re-ride it on the trainer.

Not sure, haven't tried it.
