OK, got a small item to contribute.

Recently I got an axle set (axle/cones/spacers/washer/locknuts) for a Shimano HB-M475 hub.

I don’t own the hub, and probably never will. But getting the locknuts separately – which are thin 10mm x 1mm locknuts that are only 3mm thick – would actually have been more expensive than ordering the axle set. I wanted the locknuts.

I’m keeping the locknuts and spacer washers. The cones and axle are up for grabs. Shimano EV for the hub can be found at

https://si.shimano.com/en/manual/sea..._model=HB-M475

This is one of Shimano’s 10mm QR front axles for 100mm OLD hubs; I’m pretty sure it fits standard front dropouts. I think – but I am not positive – that the axle will fit other similar Shimano front hubs of that era that use such an axle. However, based on perusing Shimano EVs, I think that the cones are probably unique to the HB-M475 (though they might be usable in a pinch with other front hubs using a 10mm axle when using suitable spacers and/or alternate seals).

PM me if you want the axle and cones. First come, first serve.

FWIW , I was talking to a BMX collector (aka bike nut) the other day .
He mentioned that those SR cranks off the motobecanes are sought after by the Bmx restorers .
Seems odd they would embrace a swaged crank.

More likely a desire to accurately restore these bikes. Some Cateye reflectors sell for more than you'd think they should be worth as well. I suspect that's a BMX restoration thing.

Probably so and those poor guys have far less than we do to work with.

Most of their stuff was ground up and spit out long ago from attrition, bad luck and less than robust enough quality, design and materials, our "rare" parts are plentiful and cheap by comparison.

Most of us have parts older than BMX and MTB's that are still going strong, many of us have complete bikes that are fine by comparison but if they used swaged cranks, that may explain some of the shortcomings.

I have a long time friend, expert painter, fab guy and resto guru that is working over a VW Thing right now, about half done and already sold, go look up what those turds are going for regardless of condition.

Another prime example of a very poorly made "thing" that's gone stupid beyond any stretch of the imagination or common sense.

Too small for me... anybody want? Size shows "M" but clearly not a standard American size "M", quite a bit smaller.

I’m in the middle of reading it and I’m a David Byrne fan so it’s been an enjoyable read. There are many interesting observations and points of view. Also, the idea that a fairly well-known musician spends time riding around on an old folding bike gives me more appreciation for him.

Found these today while looking for something else. I THINK, but make no promises, that these are Campy toe clip bolts( 8mm head, thread into the twisted hunk of metal that was once a Campy pedal)
They are of no use to me. Even if I had a pair of functional Campy pedals, they are too short for me. I have to space the clips out a bit because of a long ago foot injury.
They are yours for postage.

Is it possible to post a "curb alert" in this space? I need to rid the garage of a few 3-speeds and projects. Asking the moderator.

Curb Alert: Raleigh Bikes

I have a Raleigh at the virtual curb in Salisbury, MD. They will remain on the virtual curb for 10 days and then they will move to the actual curb for the scrappers. It is a 5-speed IGH Sprite, a Sports Camelback (has fenders and chainguard not shown), and a 23" Sports (saddle not included).

The 23" Sports is not for sale any longer - sellers remorse.

dweenk If the Sprite doesn't get any takers, I would be happy to take the wheels, shifter and rear rack off your hands. I have a 3sp Raleigh Sports which they would work well on.

I have had no takers. How do you propose to do this without me spending too much time prepping and shipping? A PM is in order I think.
