Reopen Trollheim as a space for unhinged ranters to pollute the electrons
Seems that P&R has recently become the home for unhinged ranting with no apparent moderation. Wasn't that the purpose of Trollheim?
An alternative is to rename P&R as Trollheim or Alternate Reality/Q-Central.

I just scroll past P&R. The other side is obviously deranged.

No need to reopen Trollheim for unhinged ranters; all you need to is to listen to contemporary American politics.

...IIRC (and I might not, it's been a while since TH was closed), the whole reason it existed was to have some place where the potty mouth rants and genuinely deranged threads/posters couild be isolated, when needed, so the content doesn't show up on various public search engines. I know teh P+R is restricted to invitation only, but the contents do show up on search, even on the bikeforums.net search engine.
All of this might well have changed in the interim. I don't keep up with the technology here. But the original reason for Trollheim was to keep the most embarrassing and possibly controversial stuff isolated in a separate place. And you didn't have to ban people, you could just lock them in there for a while to vent.
Anyway, good luck with it, moderation team. Sooner or later if you run an internet platform, you need to come to terms with conspiracy theories, and whether you choose to provide a soapbox for them (however tiny the soapbox.)

The only other forums I visit (one for guitar, the other for bass) simply ban all discussions of politics and religion. People who try to do end runs or dog whistles get temporary and then permanent bans.
Not that I wouldn't miss some of the P&R content here. And I'd hate to see the ranters sent to Coventry (i.e., Trollheim), if only because after the posts from the well-informed smart guys here make me feel dumb, I can always read a ranter's post and feel smart again.

Trollheim was totally under-rated and could be highly entertaining. I will support it's re-opening as long as it is kept exclusive. I wouldn't want any normal posters in there.
