Stupid inner tube question
I just put together a bike and used a set of wheels that came with 27 x 1” tires. I like the ride and the looks, but the tires and tubes are quite old. I found tires, but I’m not seeing specific tubes, 1” specific tubes with schrader valves. I have tons of 27x1 1/4 tubes that look like they’ll fit, but is there a better option? 700 tubes perhaps?

27in and 700c tubes are interchangeable.
The tube cross section is what makes a good fit.
mostly you’ll see metric. So a 700c X 25mm will give a good fit for your 27in X 1in.
if the 1 1/4in don’t fold out crease or you don’t have problems getting the bead seated. Should be fine.

Most tubes nowadays are intended for dual use, so they often list both 700 (iso 622) size range and a 27" (iso 630) size range.
I do not recall seeing tubes labeled specifically for 27 x 1, but a tube designed for 700 x 25 should work.
Some tubes labeled 27 x 1 1/4 will be skinny enough to work, but if your tube is on the large side you will likely have more problems with pinch flats from mounting. If the tube is on the really large side it will have folds that (in my experience) seem to create a potential point of failure over time.
