40 yrs ago I started out with real chamois. I would never go back. These days it's Castelli after years with Assos. Whatever works for you.

I much prefer genuine chamois over the newer synthetic pads. I’ve ridden many thousands of miles using both, and find the old-school shorts more comfortable, especially for really long rides. The thicker pads which come in modern shorts are often less comfortable than shorts with no padding art all.

Can’t give them a very thorough review, as I’ve only used them a few times, but they were comfortable. Merino wool and real chamois. $65. the ones I bought in 2021 were a little shorter.
