From the summer of 1987. Just outside the village of Vernazza, Italy.

Great photo Erick. Seems to have the essence of a bike tourer.

Central Nebraska on my first tour.

In the Black Hills, looking through a needle's eye on top a mountain after some hiking on a hidden-secret trail.

downtube42, my folks owned and operated a B&B on South Mountain, not far from Antietam. (South Mountain itself was the site of a significant battle three days preceding Antietam ... significant because it represented yet another failure on McClellan's part to destroy the Army of Northern Virginia even before Antietam. It also allowed Lee time to reinforce his forces with units that had just overrun Harper's Ferry from the Union).

I'd encourage everybody to see Antietam, the site of the single bloodiest day of the Civil War.

Here's me and my tour partner somewhere in Montana in 1983. It's a montage of two photos; I took the one on the left (see my shadow?), Dave took the one on the right. I rode that same bike to work this morning!

I just took this yesterday so it is really fresh in my mind. From the Otago Central Rail Trail in New Zealand, forget the exact location. Just took a weekend trip up from Dunedin where I am studying for the next 6 weeks.
Hopefully I'll have something to top it with soon.

I shot this one (b+w infrared film) on my Vancouver-Calgary-Vancouver trip. I almost didn't take it because I was climbing a nasty 9% pass at the time.

Here is a pic from my winter holiday in Baja - not really a bike tour, but I did use a bike/panniers/racks to haul stuff regularly.....

More photos here.

Stained glass window at my room in the Whistling Swan Inn, Stanhope, New Jersey. the blurriness is caused by condensation on the lens. (The camera was outside in sub-freezing temperatures for several hours.)
