Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes.

I go to an east coast liberal arts school. I don't doubt that there are some very wealthy kids here. I would say that the majority of them are very down to earth and don't flaunt their wealth. Sometimes they try very hard not to.

It's hip to look like you're broke in college. Welcome to the hipster myth.

The summer between the third and fourth year is "Engagement summer", and you should see the rocks on the fingers of most of my classmates this year. I've talked to several who only take part-time jobs while in school for something to do, not because they need the money.

Alex - I sent your avatar to my daughters. They love it!!

So many fighter jocks. I'm impressed. And typical number of IT people. This group sounds like me and my three friends from high school. A fighter jock, an IT guy, a professor, and me - an attorney/engineer.

I'm a senior process auditor at one of the major biotech companies. While not the highest position I've held, this is one of the most fun jobs I've had in my career and I wouldn't trade it for any corner office position.
