Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

BB30 toolset. Installation and removal. Only one friend has them, and he's hard to get in touch with. I figure BB30 is around for a while, so I might as well get the toolset.

and just tonight...not much to tune up on this quasi-vintage Schwinn (not sure of the year): 12-speed Caliente

Fixed the above.
Bicycle Outfitters used to be a nice shop in Indy. It closed down years ago. It was owned by John Matthews Jr., who also owned our shop when it was Nora Bike & Skate. John Jr. apparently kept the rights to the Bicycle Outfitters name and somehow kept the wholesale accounts open (or is using his Mom's accounts at Matthews Bike Shop).

I hear he's going to actually rent a warehouse now, though. I guess selling parts for 5-15% over cost has made him enough money for that. Maybe I should try it.

Just got some more stuff at Performance Bikes in Santa Monica. Got a TransIt small speed saddle bag, a tube, and a co2 chuck. I can finally ride in confidence, knowing I can take care of a flat in minutes and NOT have to call someone to pick me up...

Unless you have more than one flat. (not intending to start a pump versus co2 debate. I'm just being a smartass)
