Shadowy take...
Nice to see a bunch of my contributions to the BOC reclaimed!!! Was the glass lens of the Regina shattered? I was worried about it. I considered packing it separately but didn't act on it...

I assume so...it wasn't in there. It is such a beautiful piece to go into my coffee table display case I built from pallets, I couldn't resist.

However, if anyone believes that display is a crappy way to use crap, please PM me and I will send it along!

The pedals and Huret FD are perfect for the Favorit, which is scheduled for this summer!

My girl loved the purple keychain and since she aided and abetted crap removal and replacement, happy gal...

Yikes, looks like it got roughhoused a bit coming out of Portland.

Glad you could use the Huret FD! I knew the whole box was a Francophile's dream and a front derailleur was all it needed.

They did! Thank you! Pedals and FD will definitely make the Favorit happy as well...I have never used any Huret stuff so it will be interesting sourcing the rest.

It's here - a day earlier than expected! I made sure to thank our letter carrier for schlepping this onto the porch. Heavy metal, indeed. I can't wait to tear into it, but really need to wait until tonight - this is going to be a serious undertaking - it feels a bit like I need to take step by step photos, as if I was dismantling a part, to make sure I can get it back together!

That's cheating...You have to tear it apart in excitement and then look at the pile and the box with dread...

I AM glad that my professionally rebonded plexiglass made the trip in one piece...it did increase the weight slightly with duct tape.

For what it's worth, I am now at a total loss as to how to get this stuff back into the box, not even to speak of getting my own contributions in there

Clean the BOC as needed to keep it within the limits for the post office to ship. Sometimes the crap needs a purge to make the movable crap a bit less than junk being moved from place to place. Smiles, MH

If anybody's on the fence, it's definitely fun and worth a turn. And I did finally get the box to close! Phew.

Here's my haul. I think I put a handful of fun replacement crap in there, although had to hold on to a couple of things that wouldn't fit. Next time!

(The 6-speed 14-32 was perfect for my project. Really freaking gummy, but a lot of flushing with WD-40 later, it's spinning like a dream.)

Now these free Racers from the Box of Crap are really making want to buy a particularly expensive Herse upgrade kit. Feels counterproductive...

Those are tire savers of a sort...ride along the center of the tread and pull out glass while the bike is moving..

Looks like someone after me added in the missing hanger bolt for the Suntour derailleur I put in the BOC. Hey now, you're not supposed to make the crap *less* crappy!
