Campagnolo Hub shell grease injection hole
Hi
I have a circa 1990 Campy Chorus or Record 8 speed cassette.
There is a hole in the hub body and was told to put 2 ccs of grease until it comes out the ends and to put grease in any other ports. ( which I do not see any other ones)
I am not sure how to do.
Do I put the grease in a syringe and put in that way ?
Is there a grease gun that fits in the hole ( s)
Please see pic attached
Really appreciate your help

It is an Oil Port from decades ago.. With todays greases unless you are running at the track and need the low viscosity for less friction and can take the high frequency replacement they pretty much don't get used. I have heard people do use them but to me if you need a squirt of oil to refresh your grease you are ready for a hub refresh using today superior greases.

Thanks
Update
Campagnolo NA answered my email from last week!!!!
AND I spoke to Campagnolo today !!!
Sure enough...it is used for grease
Campy tech said use a mini grease gun ( GG1 )
and put grease in.
Yay!!!
I'll see how that helps. the rear wheel isn't really that bad.
spins fine.
Will start with this and see how it does.
All the best

There is no Zerk that fits the hole. So, forcing a high viscosity grease into the hole, and out to the ends of the hub will be dang near impossible.
I suppose one could design a rubber stopper that would fit in and lock, but I don't believe anybody makes them.
Filling the area around the axle with grease would be a waste, increase friction, and provide very little benefit. And it would be a pain to clean out periodically.

If thats the case why did they provide a grease hole ?

Campagnolo said to put grease in as well as another member on a different thread.
Ordered a mini grease gun. Saw a video of it working
Awesome
Thank you
