40 years from now, what will the person disassembling your bike say?

I try to keep my bikes clean. So, the guy (or gal) that happens to work on them doesn’t have to clean them before tackling the the problem. I double flatted once and i only had a single spare. So, i wheeled my disabled bike to LBS (about a 1 mile hike). Crystal the mechanic said, “i love working on your bike. It’s so clean.” I think we both felt better as a result.

"Man, this is a great bike but I dunno what to do about the paint. It's chipped to hell. Respray? But there's no way I'm gonna recreate that red. Dammit. Guess I'll ride as-is."

"Grandpa was crazy about this old bike. I'll bet he would be really happy that we're finally putting a kickstand on it."

Chrome plated detail parts...
that was outlawed decades ago...
wow.
there was an Internet archeologist who reportedly was able to decode this bike information website- sheldonbrown.com
pretty wild notions they had back then.

I’m not sure what anyone will say about my bikes, but when they look at all the parts I have their response might be...
... “Just how many derailleurs and chainrings does someone need? Did this guy think he was go to ride until he was 150 years old?”
John

“Not a bad job overall, especially for a first build.”
“But did he really have to use a wrap around rack? What a tedious pain in the a**!”
“And talk about cutting clearances close! What was this guy thinking?”
“Holy smokes, a SR Royal Super Light! Nice stem. But didn’t anyone ever tell this guy to never use a 22mm stem in a 22.2mm tube?”
“I hope he didn’t ride in the rain much with those flutes sitting below the seat tube.”
“Really? You mean to tell me this guy spent all that time, money and attention to detail while building this gorgeous bike, only to cheap out on strap buttons in the end? ...OMG! SMH!”
