Columbus Decal positions
Hey, I'm doing up a mid 80's Columbus SL frame and have just got my hands on an old SL seat tube decal. I'm considering positioning it above the bottom bracket as apposed to under the seat cluster. eg...
Is their any specific reason I shouldn't do this? Placing the decal at the bottom of the seat tube seems to be far less common and I'm wondering if it's period/tubeset specific or whether it's just ascetic. Cheers for any opinions guys.

My early '90s Maza (TSX) has the label in that position. But, if I knew where the old label was, that's where I would put the new one.

Most of the Italian frames from the early 1980s that I'm familiar with have the Columbus decal below the seat cluster, but unless you're trying to be "period correct" then put it where you want to - its your frame.

You asked for opinions...so here's mine...just above the bottom bracket is the LAST place I'd put it, unless you know that's how it came originally and you want to be true to the frame's original look. Your Italian frame should wear the Columbus decal with pride. SL is good quality tubing, why hide the decal way down by the bottom bracket? I'd place it just below the seatpost, or between the downtube shifters.
