FMF. And a redline.

I just got a new (returned) Mongoose Title Expert from Amazon (probably low end to an enthusiast, but it might be lighter than my Redline). Can't believe how Communist Chinese slave labor can make the paint look so good. Lustrous red. Not being a cyclist, but being a mechanic... I don't like its "internal cable routing". Coincidently, the brake cable is bent and crimped where it went into the top tube, like somebody yanked hard on the uninstalled handlebars and wrecked it. No problem! Wasn't planning on using it that way anyway.

Hey, guys! I don't want to create a thread, but I'm looking for a suggestion. My nephew is 14 and soon is his birthday. He wants a BMX bike, and I want to buy him. I want it to be surprised, but I know nothing about those bikes. Maybe, someone can suggest me a good one for a guy his age? The price doesn't;t really matter, because that kiddo deserves it.
Thanks everyone in advance

I have a 1980 supergoose. I the original owner and built it from the frame up back in the ‘80’s. It has redline forks, redline V bars, mini pro neck, snowflake sprocket, 1st generation Skyway tuff wheels, DiaCompe MX1000 rear brakes and I believe a tuff neck seat post clamp. I love it and get comments all the time I ride it. I’ve heard it’s a great looking bike for its age. Rightly so since it’s always been kept clean and in a garage. Sorry I’m new and told I can’t post pics yet. Hopefully that will change soon.

1979 Mongoose and a 1983 SE Quandangle. I've got the original wheels (Skyway II, and 2 sets of Araya rims) and both frames sit on the wall in my shop...

I had an original SE Quadangle made from Reynolds 531. It got stolen from a Taco Bueno... I never ate there again.
