Ultegra hydraulic brake pad lifetime

Hi... I'm relatively new to hydraulic brakes. I've worn out two sets of resin front brake pads... it took about 2500 miles to wear out each set. Rear pads are about half worn.
My rides are generally 40 miles with about 3000 feet of downhill with the occasional long steep descent.
Is this normal wear?
Thank you!

That's my experience. In fact, I wear mine out in fewer miles.

They will last anywhere from 1 hour to a year or more. Just depends. Your wear sounds about 'average' if there is such a thing.

I get very similar mileage. And yes, rear pads last much longer - about 4-5 times longer than front ones.

Unless you are in the habit of using the brakes on both ends, and you ride a lot in wet conditions.

OP, your mileage is pretty normal. Depending on how much riding you do, in the current parts scarcity time, keep a few sets in reserve.

They should last longer but that is not always the case. I'd venture a guess that I see a lot more bikes than you do and the majority wear the rears faster than the fronts probably 2:1 because a LOT of people are too scared or stupid to use the front brake properly.
