This particular build has been a huge surprise. It rides even better than what I was expecting, especially it being an aluminum frame. It even feels and rides lighter than its weight of 18+ lbs.
I’m sure it’s going to get even better once the hand-built wheels from PWB get here.

Help! I lost my bike!
I need help. I tried to take a photo of my bike, but now I can't find it!
I could have sworn I left it in front of the garage door...
Oh wait, now I see it!
FYI: I don't think my bike compares to the many beauties posted on this forum. I just figured I'd post my "invisible" bike for a laugh! Mid-range aluminum bikes with plain-ish paint, a few too many logos, and low-profile aluminum wheelsets generally fall into the "nice, but still ordinary" road bike category. The way the tubes join at head tube, just a bit too early and with some big welds, always seemed slightly off to me, too. At least it rides really nicely -- fast, lightweight, responsive -- even if it isn't quite a head-turner.
Speaking of prettier models, that Cervelo is among my favorites. Beautiful clean lines (which are becoming rarer in modern bikes). Simple color palette without too many logos. Doesn't suffer from "aero spaceship" syndrome or the "oops, we attached the seatstays in the wrong spot" syndrome. I'm a fan of bikes that still have that double-diamond shape.
That Speedvagen is awesome, too. Again, nice clean geometry, an eye catching paint job with clean lines (and minimal logos). Heck, it even has round tubes! I don't care if that makes it 1% less aero, it still looks better to my eye. There are too many great bikes to choose from here.

I also like the clean lines of that frame. Round tubes. Horizontal top tube. Modern and muscular looking (i.e. with the large diameter tubes), but still classic in overall profile.
The black/pink fade handlebar tape isn't my thing (just not my color), but I will admit that it gives a nice pop of color against the black frame and components.

The Cinelli is super hot (love the metal decals), but somebody's accidentally put Shimano on it

A lot of hot bikes in this thread. And while she is maybe not as high tech or collectable as some of the bikes posted above, this old Takara makes me want to skip work to go ride every morning when I look at her as I pull out of the garage. A survivor and all original except for the tires, brake pads, bar tape and toe clips.

Nice backdrop.
As for the bike, I'd comment but it'd feel too much like kicking a baby in the face

Hot. Really, what's not hot about it? Some will say, "It's old, or it's steel, blah, blah blah." The black bits contrast well with the shiny frame. It looks a whole lot better than the typical murdered out posting we usually see. That's my opinion, but I could be wrong.

As the owner of a murdered-out bike, I agree. Low spoke count also does wonders, even for the looks of a classic.

I will be building up a black, murdered out vintage bike in the next week or two. That's the way it came from the factory in 84. I tend to keep mine close to original with only updates/upgrades to make them more rider friendly. I have an 83 version of the same bike. When the 84 murdered out version is finished, it might be "cooler looking" than the 83. It certainly won't be as pretty, though.

BTW, after riding that for a while if you feel the need for additional cable adjusters on your shift cables, you can use a Huret clamp on cable stop like this one and use modern cable stops.

For now I think the barrel adjustor on the RD is going to be enough. I was shocked at how little fussing I had to do with the derailleurs. Just a small adjustment on the limit screws and maybe a 1/2 turn of the barrel adjuster and everything's just peachy.
And thanks for the kind words, everyone. I put about 80 miles on it this weekend and it feels like a brand new bike. I think I might be a bit stretched out but it should be fine for the winter when I'm not typically out for more than 2-3 hours at a time

Ah that's good to know, any modifications necessary for that or do the modern stops just go right on?
