ID this Vintage Headbadge
Saw this on FB Marketplace. Its a new one to me and the owner was no help. The ad said it was a Campagnolo bicycle. After I told him it couldn't be he came back and said it was a Cinelli bike and referred me to the handlebar. It appeared to be a late 70s-early 80s build but who knows

Looks similar to Montgomery Wards but I only offer that as a terrible guess.
What components are on the bike?

I subscribed to this thread last night just because I was curious as to what it is and I love the looks of it. Were it close to me and at a good price I would be on it like a chicken on a June bug.

If the price is good, get it. Whatever it is, that’s not junk.

Whoever designed that logo was overpaid.

Post in one of the linked threads makes sense.
"I worked with a guy named Mark Wagner who built frames here in Kansas City in the late 70s. His bikes had a distinctive logo, so if I had a better picture, I could say with more certainty if it was his bike."

Well Im straight south of Kansas City about three hours so it makes since that a regional builder's bike could migrate down here. Machinist42 your memory impresses me. No results of Wagner frames on a preliminary search. Don't know why I'm fascinated with this frame. He's asking WAY too much unless it has some Grail value

Steep prices are a facebook marketplace and craigslist staple. I look at the facebook marketplace ads more than my friends and family's political posts and wordle scores. What has developed into a mini-hobby is watching those ads drop in price when the seller realizes the bike they have isn't a rare masterpiece. Tulsa is not far from me so it is in my regular search radius I recall seeing a few nice Treks lately.

ChuckM. I recently moved to Northwest Arkansas and discovered that the Tulsa /OKC area has both interesting bicycles and some fine vintage stereo gear ( my other sickness). A person easing into retirement doesn't need this type of temptation!

Given what's in and out of focus in the first pic, the seller knows as much about bikes as he does about cameras. Definitely wait for the clueless-seller discount to kick in.

Indeed, as I said, the ad listed it as a Campagnolo bike. After i told him no way, he said it was a Cinelli bike. I said no way, and tried to get him to get me a good pic of the downtube logo. After a bit of round and round, he told me to forget it. Heck, I was trying to help the guy! Truly clueless on bikes, which is not a crime.Ill keep an eye on the post and see where the asking price goes
