Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road Cycling in Bentonville Arkansas

We are going to Bentonville with road bikes. After planning our trip we learned it's predominantly a mountain bike town. Are the roads friendly for road bikes?
I posted this in the regional section but nobody ever goes there so I am posting here. Thanks!

My parents used to live in Bella Vista, near Bentonville. I would not have ridden on the roads there -- too many elderly drivers with poor driving skills, on narrow winding roads.

There are lots of protected bike lanes to ride safely. The Razorback Greenway runs from Bentonville all the way south to Fayetteville. Probably 45 miles one way. Lots of interesting things to see along it. Downtown Rogers has the Rail Yard loop. All of the down town areas of Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, & Fayetteville have bike friendly restaurants and bars. If actual road riding is what you are looking for there is plenty. Hwy 71 south from Fayetteville to Devils Den is a popular ride. Also many good roads west of Rogers/Bentonville.

Here is a link with several road rides listed. Rides
