Entry level carbon frames very likely means they are heavier than the frames that aren't considered entry level. As well the very high end CF frames have higher technology CF used in their construction that costs more.

CF in general has gotten to the point where we might see a lot of aluminum bikes disappearing from the market. So really just pick a price point for your budget and don't worry about what the frame material is.

At 230 lbs, you aren't going to be a issue for most any frame made today. Particularly in the USA market. If you plan to do stunts and aerial work with your bike and participate in the x-games then maybe you should be careful about what bike you get. But I don't think that's where you are at currently.
