wondering anent seat binder...
the binder ears here appear to be relatively modern added-on ones
the seat lug is a Malaguti style
generally with Malaguti seat clusters there is not much room for binder ears so frames constructed with them employ collars
given the suspected date for the cycle it would seem likely it would have been fitted with a collar
would an example from this time have worn a forged collar with the Frejus name or would it have been a generic stamped one with the interlocking rings motif or zig-zag greco one for example?
would suspect these binder ears added at same time as the hydration mounts
thank you for any information...

@juvela - an example of which you speak
68FrejusSeatCluster on Flickr
Are you suggesting that someone cut the extended portion of the seat tube used for the collar and then brazed ears on the lug? Would the brazing hold up to the force of pinching the ears?
If such a modification were done, the ears would also have to overcome the force of the stays, IMHO.
Is that portion under the collar a sleeve that is brazed in?

This is going to seem dumb, but I've been hanging around here a long time and have never made use of this album, at least not directly. where is it? I looked in your profile but couldn't find it. Then I looked in *my* profile but couldn't find mine either. (A common problem I have with the BF interface is there is just too much going on.)
As for getting to a user's album, I just use the user's ID number which is visible if you click on a user's name to get to their profile page, e.g. /members/fizzer-561755.html
Then, just use that number with the standard BF syntax for user photo galleries: "www.bikeforums.net/g/user/561755" where the number in bold is the user ID.
-----------------
FWIW, there's no picture of the rear of the seat cluster in the gallery (yet).
