Can a Huret Jubile front derailleur shift a triple crank?
Assuming I use the minimum possible spindle length, is a Hurry Jubile front derailleur capable of shifting across a triple crankset? I wasn't sure if it had enough swing.
I have one I could try out but before I go disassembling two bikes to try it I just thought I'd see if anyone has done it successfully.
Thanks

I used one that way for a while. I can't remember if it was near it's limit. It did seem pretty flimsy, which is why I don't use it now. Old suntours work better for half step and granny.

Some would say it can't even shift a double... for long!

Get a Duopar if you want to stay French
The front of the cage is stiffer than a Jubilee
I have one on my Eroica bike, shifts a triple fine

Jubilee front derailleurs frequently cracked at the pivot pins. I wonder if they were made for metric and English seat tube diameters. (Seems likely.) If so, installing a metric derailleur on an English seat tube would likely hasten its demise. Worth investigating before mounting it.

The Jubilee front was initially spec'ed for the Trek 720 loaded touring bike, with a triple crank. It works fine with that, but Trek eventually chaged the spec to a Huret Success front or Simplex Super LJ, not because the Jubilee couldn't handle the triple, but because too many of the clamps were breaking on the assembly line.
If you do decide to use the Jubilee front, be careful when mounting it, to prevent breaking the clamp.
