Repair Broken SS Bottle Cage?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The ones I have on my bike currently must be over five years old.

And, of course, you get either the bottle or the Gatorade free, depending on how you look at it. The only problem: most stores no longer carry the 24-oz bottles for some reason.

And I never bother closing the twist top. I figure I'm constantly breathing in whatever gets into or onto the bottle top anyway.
Yeah, i don't close mine for riding on pavement. Nalgene makes ATB bottles with a dome, which I've learned would be nice if you ride single-track with bottles like I do.

What?! Not sure if you've heard yet but they've started making frames and forks out of CF too, and they take way more abuse than a bottle cage! Just ribbing ya lol. I use CF cages from Ali that cost $34/pr (Canadian pesos) shipped to my door. I've got 10 of 'em (5 bikes x2), they've been flawless and work better than any metal or plastic ones I've used. Mind you this is for roads and hybrids, so not so much rattle your teeth out over tree roots or 3m drops.

carbon fiber failures were so common and problematic that the F35 is now constructed of investment cast lugs and butted steel

OP checking in. I sent them an email asking about this a week ago, no reply. Also their website does not say anything about a warranty that I could see. You sure about this??

Did someone say the cage has a lifetime warranty? Maybe the OP still has the purchase receipt. He can go to the store in Lancaster and exchange his broken one for a new one. That way, he won't incur a core charge.

I glad I read through the thread. The transmission is starting to slip on my work van. It has 267K miles so it's time. I was going to buy a remanufactured one and swap it out. After reading through the thread however, I've decided to rebuild it myself. Plenty of videos on the net showing me how. It will save me some coin.

It’s a very small operation. Perhaps try calling. Phone number here.

No. If you can save a few bucks repairing a bottle cage, why not try it on your transmission repair?

There's certainly a lot of similarities, pretty much the same thing.
