My trusty road bike since 2004, over 50k miles pedaled on this 2001 Litespeed Ultimate frame.

Staying on the Litespeed theme, as a 1996 that originally came with 8 speed Record Ergos, this doesn't fit in C&V, but I can't be bothered to go to the early brifters forum to post this (Litespeed-built) 1996 Eddy Merckx Titanium EX that I just built up.

I can't remember. It's either a 64x62 or 62x62. Looking forward to the room. Since it wasn't quite ready (and I didn't want to take my cycling shoes), The kids and I went to the park today, and then went on a little ride on the attached MUP with them (only 4-5 miles) on a 55 cm LeMond (so probably 57 cm by most other people's measures) that was easily available in the garage and it was so cramped. I should have just packed the shoes and grabbed the Merckx or my Colnago that's currently on the trainer (right now they share a wheelset as the others all need work), but I felt it would be silly to wear cycling shoes for a 4 mile ride at 6-8 mph with many stops.

I built up this new to me Fuso frame a couple of weeks ago. It rides so nice! The 7700 with STI seem a bit out of place but it works great. At some point in the distance future maybe I will treat myself to some 7400 with down tube shifters.

Campagnolo Brifter rebuild / reconfigure tutorial?
I have several Campagnolo brifters, and I need to convert some. (example 7 speed to 9 speed) simply for appearance.
I need to decide if I should swap (riveted?) levers or those little tiny cogs.
Is there a good tutorial or series of youtube videos or anything that can get me on the right track?
I have looked on Campagnolo website, to try to cross over part numbers, but this stuff (Avanti, Centaure, Record) seems too old.
Any help appreciated.

I have a set of excellent Chorus 9-speed ergopowers. Would you consider doing a straight swap with your 8-speed record levers? It would save you the time at least on one of them. PM me if interested.

Dave is certainly one of the greats, very long and storied career. Strongly encourage you to go down the rabbit hole on it, fascinating stuff.

I've been dying to contribute to this thread for a fair while now. Below is my late 80's/early 90's Colnago Master Piu. Have had it since 2009. The "before" pic was taken in 2020. In spring 2021, I discovered that the seat-tube had developed a crack which started a long odyssey of getting it repaired, finding new components and wheelset for it. I finally managed to put it together this last September and the "now" pics are from today.

This was my old triathlon/racing bike – a 1984 Miyata 710. I pulled it out of the garage rafters last spring and converted it to a 2x7 with R2000 Claris derailleurs and brakes, indexed DT shifters and an old 1055 105 crankset.
I put in about 1000 miles – it ran great, but I couldn’t leave well enough alone, and now it’s 2x11 running R7000 105. Here are the rest of my build notes:

Cold set frame to 130 mm.
Frame/forks powdercoated. Velocals match originals.
Grand Cru headset, Nitto stem and bars.
Shimano R7000 (105) brakes, mechs, shifters, and hubs
Velocity A23 rims, DT Swiss Champion spokes, Conty Grand Prix 25c
11-34 Cassette, 52/36 Crankset, BBR60 BB
Brooks C17 saddle
Shimano EH500 pedals
It rides smooth, fast and quiet.

11-40 cassette, Shimano GRX-812 RD.
Shimano 1055 BB, Shimano 6400 crank, Wolf Tooth 42T chainring.
Brooks B17 saddle.
Shimano M-8120 pedals.
The crank is a double, the ring is in on the inner ring position and and I used a BB spindle meant for a triple. That pushed the chainline out a couple of mm, which seems perfect.
I’ve put about 1500 miles on this config.

This is my 1983 Sequoia with a modern drivetrain.
It's mostly Ultegra 8000 with a Dura Ace 9000 crankset and Tektro nutted brakes. HED Belgium wheelset with DT350 rear hub and SP dynamo front. Bars, stem, and rack are all Nitto and the bag is a Swift Ozette.

Yes, sort of. Gevenalle shifters come in multiple formats and the ones you probably want exit from the tops. They are essentially Tektro R200 style brake levers with attachment points for downtube or bar end shifters. Not exactly brifters but people who have them seem to like ‘em.
