New Bike Day! - 1991 Paramount Series 5 PDG
I almost posted about this in the “Are You Looking for one of These?” thread. I decided to purchase it instead. I bet it had less than 500 miles on it.
It is mostly original with a different Vetta saddle and 600 hubs on Velocity rims and an American Classic seatpost. It has a different stem installed but I also got the OEM stem.
Enough chat, here are some pics in “As Received” condition.

Great condition, I have a splatter paint '92. Rides on the stiff side for a steel frame which I like, they're really responsive. Minimal bottom bracket flex with the seat tube flared out.

Very nice! I recently built up a '92 PDG-7 that I purchased as a single speed. From what I gather from the Schwinn/Paramount catalogs, the steel PDGs were all built from similar tubesets and the only difference in the 3, 5, and 7s was the components hung on the frames, though I could very well be wrong about that. And I have to agree with Lazyass and jamesdak, these frames are rather stiff. Stiffer than my Gunnar Roadie I'd have to say, definitely built for fast and hard miles.

My bike came with mismatched 700x23 tires on it. I'll ride those for now but over the winter want to switch them out for a pair of gumwalls. I was thinking 25's, but do you think that a set of 28's will fit?

Definitely rubbed with the Conti GP4000s II 700 x 25 but only partly. I thought I had tried the truer to life Veloflex's in 700 x 25 but don't see a mention. A set of them may very well clear as we know the Conti's run large.

This is a 27mm Vittoria Open Pavé mounted on a 92 PDG 7 fork. I know I've ridden it with those tires.

I've done some updating on my PDG 5. I swapped the mismatch black wall tires for a new set of Vittoria 700x23 gum walls and swapped the tired Vetta saddle for a Turbo.

A little more updating. Bought set of new original wheels, and changed the bar tape and cages. I also added a set of Tange fork stickers.
