Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tomorrow is another washout, so I signed up for a 2 hour club ride on Zwift.

They plan to have the yellow beacon/leader at 2.5-3.0 w/kg and the red beacon/sweeper at 1.5-2.0 w/kg.

Guess which group I will be going with??

I will likely assemble the travel bike today, and see if I can make it more vertically compliable. It is my old size frame--58cm. Everything I currently ride is 60 or 61. Last year, riding it on hills, my knees instantly blew up. They didn't last two weeks.
Sad!

Which ride? I need a two hr session, but most of the group rides are too fast for my base intensity.

It's actually a club ride with zoom meeting, I don't think you need to be a WCCC club member to join so if you want to "crash" the ride here is the link.

https://wcccpa.clubexpress.com/conte...nt_date_id=255

(p.s. you might have to "join" the WCCC Zwift club though)

Shows up on Zwift events just like a regular ride. Might join the slow group. Look for "I. Hurt."

OK. Feel free to join in the zoom meeting for lively banter/chat. You will NOT see my smiling face as I do audio only.

That group is going to be strung out a very long ways. You can bet there will be people pushing 3.2+ at the front.

Just like real life, I'm afraid. As an elderly weakling, I find the only way to get a proper endurance workout is to ride alone or with people who are significantly less fit.

It's funny, I became musically aware at around age 10 or 11 (mid 1970's) so listening to the radio the first version of "Blinded by the Light" I was heard was the Mafred Mann Earth Band one, and when I heard the original by The Boss it sounded "funny."

Same thing with "Pinball Wizard," I heard the Elton John version long before The Who's original.

Of course now I am older and wiser and prefer the originals, mostly.

Technical difficulties. My phone can't unlock my chromebook because it can't be found, setting right on its keyboard. And on my phone I can't reply at all--some unknown error code, even after closing and re-opening. I did not re-boot; prolly the cure.
But what I came here to say is that winter is late, by a week or two. The weatherman tells me we've had the warmest November in 20 years, and to expect more of the same through December. Who knows, it might be the year without winter. Those snowbirds who overheat at 80* are going to be very unhappy.

My 10yo daughter has to march with her 5th grade band at the holiday parade tonight at 33-35 degrees- poor kid. Wife and I are hitting up a nearby brewery for a couple of pops and dinner before it starts.
