Haha, I have seen some recent spam on here before it's deleted, but this morning is like 2x more than usual.
Really unfortunate for those who help maintain the site.

This is ridiculous. There's so much of it that I can't make up my mind what city I want to conduct my business in.

I guess I shouldn't have slept in, but I'm recovering from surgery.
they are generally in places I don't want to go. Maybe some of the Indian cities.

I guess being in the central time zone and not coming to the forums so early in the morning keeps me from seeing all the SPAM y'all seem to imply is around here. I think only once in the last couple weeks have I seen any of the SPAM. Though I have noticed some noobs that seem to post 5 nonsense replies all within the same minute.

The mods must be doing a pretty good job cleaning things up.

So my thanks to them for that!

Just so you have some idea of how bad the stuff they deal with is:

The overkill is also really stupid, I'd explain why, but I don't want to coach them how to spam better.

At one point this morning it occupied more than a full page of threads in General.

It doesn't take them too long for them to cover the front page of general.

I've asked for a great tool we have running on another site, but our tech people are swamped with multiple required updates, such as PHP 8

No spoilers, I haven't finished watching PHP 7 yet.

I hope that is going well. This is the last thing you should have to worry about.

Is it possible to block long strings of integers from post titles? If that is easy to implement, it might make the spammer's job more difficult, without interfering with legitimate posts.
