Crack that runs along the chainstay (parallel to the chainstay)l

Hello,

So I have a Motobecane 7005 aluminum frame that I noticed after being transported by an airline now has an oval shaped crack that runs along the drive side chainstay on both sides. I was wondering how such a crack would form in the first place. Secondly, since the crack is not perpendicular to the chainstay, is it possible to just wrap this in carbon fiber and epoxy.

I would love to share photos but I have not made enough posts. It would be awesome if I can send pictures to either a mod or another member who is willing to post it in a comment as an addendum to my post,

An oval shaped crack sounds more like a clear plastic chainstay protector to me. People have mistaken the dirty edges of the protector for a crack on many occasions.

you can upload them to an album on your gallery and then we can rescue them for you. The upload dialog box is a bit confusing, there is a button labeled "upload" on the upper right that you have to press before they actually upload.

I do not think it is since the edge is not positioned the same on both sides and the crack is not straight. Is there any definitive way to tell? I uploaded pictures to my album.
