Addiction 2021.4

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am wondering if it's caused my posting from two different devices and/or maybe being logged on two different ways. I am currently the latter. Yesterday I posted using my laptop and my phone and experienced lplo at least twice.

Need to come up with a good test.

Good theory about effect/affect. I have few stylistic rules for papers from my lab. One is that "impact" may not be used as a verb.

Bobcats. The real ones. See one or two virtually every time I go there.

There are also cougars from time-to-time, but that's something different.

Corporate talk is unbelievable. I just cannot relate to people using words and phrases like nugget, gem, deep dive, synergy/synergize, empower, content, game changer, bandwidth, etc. and the worst of all - win-win.

"At the end of the day" That one used to bug me. "At the end of the day, it's all about people".

No, at the end of the day, it's all about going home.

Heh. I literally used "win-win" less than 5 minutes ago. But in general, I despise most corporate speak.

We tend to use that one a lot, but to be fair, we're talking about liquid mixtures of chemicals, so....

We bring a certain synergy and bandwidth to the table with our solution so we both enjoy a win-win at the end of the day as long as you get your ducks in a row and don't move the goalpost.

WTF does that type of thing mean?
