Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I slept pretty bad too. Due to a stupid idea on my part we’re having to keep the windows open for a while. Breezy last night caused our window shades to make more noise than I could handle.

Oh and the bird watchers who set up there 20,000 dollar camera with 10,000 dollar lens on a tripod in the middle of the path right behind a blind spot.

And the two people on road bikes sitting up right and holding hands while they ride side by side with music blaring out of a bluetooth speaker so they can’t hear you coming.

I realized that there IS one MUP that I do use, which is like a bypass for a half-mile, 6% climb I sometimes prefer to skip on my way home on my Sunday rides. But it's not heavily used, and I can generally cruise on it without too much problem. It's also really pretty. I should take pictures sometime.

I was thinking more about the MUP problem in my area, and I have come up with a solution. If we introduced bears to our area, darwinism would take care of the rest. You don’t shove airpods in your ears in Alaska while you run. Ask me how I know.
Try doing a totally Z1 recovery ride. It's funny. I can manage maybe half an hour of that, power below 140w. BUT everything I read about recovery rides says 1) they're good and 2) they're much better if you don't cheat them. I probably ought to do one tonight, since 2/3 of last night's ride was either Tempo or Threshold HR.

I’d far prefer AirPods to everyone blasting music from their phones.

I don't understand the reasoning behind using different 'first words'. If your first word is good, there's no reason to change it for the next day. There's no reason to think a different first word will put you any close to a solution.

Ready for the heat and humidity this weekend?
No. I hope to get up and out riding early. As I get older, the first few really hot/humid rides take too much out of me.

I do an early evening ride that uses three MUPs from time to time. There are a couple of short connections on the road. The reasons for riding it are that I have to contend with very little traffic during the busiest times of the day and there is virtually no one on the paths other than bikes.

So for several months were hearing an animal sporadically in our crawl space. It was not constant and it would make noise while we were still watching tv so we didn’t do anything about it. It was not disrupting our sleep. It sounded like a squirel bumping fuzzies or something.

We had our AC replaced, and asked the workers to take a look but they didn’t see anything. The crawl space/attic is covered in insulation and I have no place to walk.

Well the noise started interrupting our sleep, and it started to move around. It was louder. So I threw some moth balls up in the attic, not realizing how bad they are. Anyways the squirel must be long gone, the noise was coming from a pipe that was replaced when the did the ac. It was mounted correctly and I guess the change in temperature or wind or something would cause it to knock.

The smell of moth balls in our house isn’t over whelming, but the wife wants the windows open at all times.

Stupid idea.

The path I go to north of here is fine for riding most of the time. I usually go there on weekdays, it can get hectic on weekends. You can go as hard as you like on a lot of it. I've posted pics before.

Getting a therapist for her is a nightmare, 1+ month wait times. It’s ridiculous.

I'd be a wreck having to deal with that.

I met a woman on a ride a few weeks ago that is a counselor. She told me demand for counseling is through the roof right now. With everything that's been going on over the last two years, I get it.

I hope you find a path, and that your child can get through this in a healthy way.

Two ee ana
Three ee ana
Four ee ana

We might have to run several of these pets over, make our point, let them know we ain’t playing.

WHO’S WITH ME!?

Actually some of you young fellas need to lead the way, I’m too old to go to jail.
