Yellow seat or not ?
I'm looking to make some changes to my bike and one of the things I wanted to do was
change my seat. However it was suggested that I add some "bling" to my bike now such
as add a seat with some color. I was thinking about "yellow" but I think my bike is colorful
enough without a yellow seat. What do you guys think? A yellow seat a little too much
color ? How about white or should I just stick to the basic black seat?
Thanks in advance !

Stay with black.
You seat doesn't show when you are riding your bike.
Bar Tape will add the appearance.
Bottle holders and bottles add or take away from the looks.
Colored tires are good.

Life is short. Black seats are boring and ubiquitous. I have a pink seat on my red Viner, a white seat on the orange Holdsworth, and my wife has a yellow set on her burgundy Bianchi. Jazz it up with colored tape as well.

I have red tire
I have a red, white and blue '04 Madone 5.2. I put red continentals on it. I must admit, they look pretty cool. And my seat is blue.

They make seat covers in colors, e.g.,

Yellow Seat and Tape would look good. If you go that route I would leave everything else black (i.e cages and tires) so as not to overdue it.

I have a yellow saddle and handlebar tape on my Litespeed. I think it adds a bit of visual interest to an otherwise boring frame (in terms of appearance). However yellow can be a hard color to match shades properly, and you might end up with three widely different shades of yellow between the frame, saddle, and tape. Depending on how OCP you are, that may or may not be a concern.

this is an opinion thread, so I'll state mine:
the marbled handlebar tape is a no-no.

I agree, although it does look pretty decent on "10 wheels" bike.

i've seen some manufacturers have on their website a custom paint function where you pick different colours and designs for the frame. Is there somewhere with a similar function where you can try out different overall colour schemes including saddle tape tyres?

From personal experience, I'd add another vote for sticking with solid-colored tape.

Black tape always. That being said, I have white tape on my Wilier because it was free.
