There are a lot of assist kits out there, I would call around to the big Catrike shops, Hostel Shoppe, Laid Back Cycles, etc. and see what they recommend.

Have you considered a mid-drive motor instead of the hub motor. I installed a TSZD2 mid drive on my wife's bike and it turned out great. I'm considering installing one on my trike. Here's a link.

I had a rear hub motor system added to my trike. I like it but - rear tire changes are a giant pita. Also, because it uses a freewheel with a hub motor, the chain line is not exactly perfect. If I was to do it again, I would go with a mid drive system. The ease of rear tire repairs
would be a good enough reason alone. You can go cadence or torque sensor, your preference, Depending on the gearing on your trike, you might need to swap out your cassette for something with higher gear inches, but with a cassette that is easy. With a hub motor freewheel system, it's almost impossible to find a freewheel with an 11t cog from anyone but one source and it is not great quality. just my 2 cents. When/if my hub system dies I will switch to mid drive. i use a marathon plus in the rear but still had a flat - nothing is 100%.
