I've got a tent from a neighbor that I've never used, either. Just taking up storage space. Big heavy duty old thing.
Next time the grandkid visits I'll set it up, and if it's not a hit . . . to the garbage it will go.

I'm curious what the worry is that all of a sudden became an immediate crisis?

My guess is that (i) a lawsuit of some sort was filed, and it exposed a potential liability, or (ii) some gubbermint lawyer was sitting around looking for something to keep him/her busy for a while and had a "brilliant" idea.

We did a bit of camping when the kids were little (Doesn't everyone?), but as far as sleeping, eating, and bathrooms go, we are confirmed indoorsmen.

Closest I came was as a camp counselor. We had a model campsite by a creek. A couple of times we dragged our bunk bed mattresses down there and spent the night with a campfire and treats from the cafeteria. Easier to do with boys than girls because of the bathroom situation.

My parents never camped out but one time in 1963 my dad rented a truck with a camper and two of my sisters and I were driven around California. We went to Yosemite, Sequoia/Kings Canyon, and the Bay Area. Oh, and some mountain road where I got carsick for the first of many times in my life. A great childhood memory.

My 9 year old professed to me that she prefers glamping. Being an indoors person and an overall grouch, I approve of her choice.

I always enjoyed camping, but don't really have a desire to do it these days. My wife is not a camper. She also loves her amenities when we travel. If there is no room service or a spa, we might as well cross the place off our list. Although we once rented an apartment in Italy that didn't have either.

Welp. 24 hours out and no reaction to speak of. My injection site was slightly sore this morning. For the first one, I was unable to leave the hammock the following day, except for the bathroom, and that was dicey.

Wheelset switch complete and no tick(of course). The wheelset which was available has tubulars. I have not been riding that bike much and had forgotten that tubulars have no rolling resistance. You almost don't have to pedal. First ride with them on this particular bike. It might be a match made in heaven.

Now that my second vaccine is in the books, I will begin looking at flights. And getting the coupled bike ship shape. It was originally scheduled for ship shaping in February of last year.
In this day and age, one can get much better flight scheduling by buying two one way vs a roundtrip. And often better pricing as well. You can use two different airlines, to get the schedule you want. They scrape up the unsellable tickets for the roundtrips. YMMV, of course.
