Norco Monterey SL
Hey folks,
Got this bike as a singlespeed a few days ago mainly for the frame to throw some spare parts on, but looking at it closer its a bit nicer than other Monterey SL's I've seen in my area. Any information on the year, and place on the norco lineup? Also not too sure if the crankset it came with is original - its a Takagi Tourney XT.
Serial # is SC625280.

The subject frame is from a 1986 Norco Monterey SL. The crankset is not OEM spec and the bicycle appears to have been completely rebuilt with non-OEM components, with the possible exception of the headset. 1986 was the first that this model used butted tubing but it's only a tretubi tubeset. The 1986 Montery SL was 4th in a line of 6 dropped handleabar, road bicycles.

Thanks TMar. Guess the frame isn't as nice as I thought it was but its still a big step up from the monterey sl I saw with stamped dropouts and lack of downtube bosses.
