REI is now selling a great Class 1 city and trail e-bike for $1999. It has a super strong rear rack, integrated lights, Shimano battery pack and mid-drive so no issues with fixing flat times. Front suspension to absorb road and trail hits. Hydraulic disc brakes. The rims will take up to a 2.3" wide tire. Handlebar stem is designed to rotate to allow the handlebars to be closer to the seat if desire. Total weight is 50.5 lbs which is pretty good.

The great thing about REI (if they haven't changed the policy) is their items are returnable, no questions asked, for one year. We've purchased tons of merchandise over the years but haven't needed to use it though. Also 10% back on list price items.

Here's the new bike - Ariel Rideal. Have had it out on several rides, including in the new snow - Love it!

Still an excellent policy.
Also an additional 5% dividend if purchasing with the REI credit card I believe.
