Merckx Titanium AX (unknown year)
Contemplating selling this so I can get something with a little more relaxed geo and room for wider tires. Not sure how to price it though, and I'm thinking I might get more if I part it out. What do you think?
Bought the bike on ebay with a bunch of mixed parts on it. Took it apart, thoroughly cleaned it, and rebuilt. The picture in front of the fence is after I finished building it.
Super Record 11 grouppo, Record 10 silver brakes, Ritchey Carbon Fork, Cinelli Neos Bars +Stem +Steapost, Record polished hubs laced to H Plus Son TB14 polished rims, Brooks C17 Cambium w/cutout, Fizik Microtex bar tape, Jagwire with Campy cables, 28x700c Clement Strada LGG, and a Tange IRD Technoglide headset.

I'd sell thatwhole, it's nicely set up. Put on some decals and smaller tires (those 28's look scary close to the seat tube).
Merckx prices are a little soft right now, but that's a $1000 bike all day.

Litespeed built the frame. 1" head tube I believe. I had an EX Ti and loved it. One of those bikes I wonder why I ever sold.

My post was from 2 1/2 years ago.
Things have changed and Merckx prices are up there again.
I’ve sold a couple of bare frames in pristine condition for close to a grand apiece.
Surprising that yours is languishing, perhaps check your photo/posting fu.

You'll need to wait for the right buyer, and that might take time. You can speed up the process by offering the bike for sale nationally with shipping, but it'll be more of a headache than selling locally. Not only do you need someone looking to buy a high-end titanium bike (not that difficult), but you also need to find someone who wants an older titanium EM over something newer for the same coin.

I was just checking ebay and just the groupsets are selling for around $1200 so I guess that may be my best bet.. Should be able to part the bike out for $2500
