I have her broken down for yearly maintenance. I did the wheel bearings, new chain, new Crank ,new White 18 T freewheel.
Then I noticed big play in the Cranks.

Need more info. What kind of BB? Cartridge bearings or loose ball? Is the old BB correct for the new crank? What's the new crank? Was there play in the old one?

If it's a cartridge BB then just replace the entire unit. If it's loose bearings, you can either buy replacements or alternatively use caged bearings. First step would be taking it out and seeing what kind of BB your bike is using.

Looks like you've got your answer, and there are plenty of those in stock. Personally, I'd probably replace the crank and BB at some point, just to have other options going forward.

Should I buy two bottom brackets 108 /68 instead of one? I am thinking the price was so low because these parts aren’t in demand anymore. Next year I may have to do it again.
I had a mismatched chain and freewheel, worn crunchy bearings, a floppy bottom bracket and I guess a worn chain.
I can’t wait to see how she rides when it’s back in service.

You could buy extras if you plan to run your 12-spline crankset for a few more years, but if you ever decide to update your cranks, you'll be stuck with your stockpile. I don't think they're going to disappear off the face of the earth anytime soon.
