Replacing Portable Bike Pump
Hi all,
I bought my Topeak Road Morph G pump some years ago and it has served me well enough. I love the built-in pressure gauge and that it turns into a mini-floor pump (great for higher pressures). I absolutely hate having to disassemble the chuck and swap pieces around to switch between Schrader and Presta (which is often as I've only had to use it on other people's bikes).
Is there a portable pump out there that (most importantly) turns into a mini-floor pump and natively serves both Schrader and Presta and also (preferably) has a built-gauge?

I have been very happy with the Mini Floor Pump by Pro Bike Tools. It has been a while since I used it on Schrader, but I believe it was simply unscrewing the head and screwing it back on upside down. They also offer inexpensive extra mounts so you can swap it from one bike to another in a flash... although I just ended up buying a second pump because I kept forgetting to swap it over before riding the other bike.

I suppose that you could splice onto the end of the current pump's hose a different chuck. Like what Topeak uses for their floor pumps. Or you could carry one of these.
It's an end length of floor pump hose with a "good" SV chuck and a PV hose clamped to the cut end. What some of us called "damsel in distress" devices back when women only rode SV tires. (Please give me a moment to duck the flames coming... that was another time and we were young)
Or get your friends to run the same valves that you do. Andy

The Road Morph is such a fantastic pump that I really wouldn't change it, I would flip the pieces when needed and teach your friends and fellow riders to carry their own pumps as well. There are other pumps out there but I don't think I would trade them for my Topeak, the only thing that might get my swapped is a Topeak pump that doesn't heat up as much and maybe is a scosh lighter without changing the pumps functionality or fit (a little longer is fine and won't kill me)

You could also just keep using your Topeak and get one of these Presta to Schrader valve converters. There are PV to SV thread-on converters that allow a presta pump head to inflate Schrader valves, sort of the reverse of the common converter. They include a central pin that depresses the Schrader valve stem. Not as easy to find as the common type but they are available. style points are awarded for not using hose clamps on pump hoses
use Oetiker clamps instead, they do not bite the hose, and apply clamping pressure evenly.

While Mark makes a good point about hose clamps, I'll defend my choice by saying that the imaged "damsel in distress" tool is about 20ish years old, still works fine and most importantly the people that I have helped with it don't care for style points. They cared that their tires could be inflated, and they can get back on their bike. Andy (who does like Mark's posts, even if they are at my expense)

I graduated from Topeak Morph to Lezyne Micro Floor Digital. I swapped the head to ABS-1 Pro. Topeak was good compared to what I had before, but Lezyne is vastly superior. I gave the Topeak to a family member and still may use it when visiting.

I also carry one of the more common inflate-Presta-using-Schrader-pump-head adapters in case I'm the one needing assistance.
