If anything, in the last year I've downgraded.

Friction downtube shifting with all the modern shifting advances is a breeze, and cuts through all the equipment cross-compatibility bull-stuff from one mfr or group to another.

For even less complication a single-speed now sits in my stable.

The absolute last thing I wanna do when I get home is fiddle with derailleurs.

FWIW: A Problem Solvers Travel Agent fits in the derailleur housing stop in the derailleur. Any ol' DT shifter in friction mode will then pull more than enough cable for 11 speed derailleurs. The change in ratio will just make the shifter harder.
