Well...at least Peugeot had this full-page ad on the second page of the article (p155), but the message of the ad was lost on me as a potential customer.
I had to chuckle about the claims of both articles.
Peugeot is "the Number One European Importer" with "over 42 models" and "1000 professional dealers" in the US.
Vitus produces "the best-selling competition framesets in America".

Thanks for posting this. I had a galaxie in 1988. The frame cracked after about two weeks of riding. I sent it back, and they sent me a sweet super vitus 980. I still have it, and its a great riding bike.

Wow, that is interesting, especially after seeing the two ads shown in the posts above.
What did you think of your Galaxie before the frame cracked and was that the main reason why it was replaced with the Vitus 980?

It seemed to ride okay, but it was so loud. It creaked with every pedal stroke. Kinda like a cleat that creaks a lot on your pedal. Here's the real nice bike they sent me. One of my favorite riders.
