Garmin 800 USB Failure

Has anyone had a unit do the following;

When powering on a screen comes up with "Unsupported power adapter". This is with no lead installed. The screen has an OK button but it won't click.

If I install a lead and connect to the PC it recognizes as a drive and charges ok.

Regards,

Andrew

Sometimes they do funny things if moisture has gotten into the USB connectors. But will go away after it drys.

Is this a one time thing or repeated?

Might try looking at it with a strong magnifier and bright light to see if bent conductors, dirt, corrosion or such might be a passible issue.

Oh... Garmin has it's own forum for it's devices. I have not been there in a while. It's member help except for unusual circumstances. But you'll likely find more edge 800 users there than here. https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into...ng/edge-800-aa

When one of my electronic devices goes haywire, I pull out the battery(s) for a few hours and try it again.

Possible but difficult with the Garmin Edge series -- batteries are "built in."

Oops. Sorry. I keep forgetting that some devices are built that way. I go out of my way to buy stuff with replaceable batteries.
