Anyone successfully added a rear brake to a Bianchi Pista?
Has anyone successfully added a rear brake to a Bianchi Pista? I have read lots of threads on people who have tried but have had issues. I read that there are aftermarket kits to do this?

I don't know which model you talking about but you said you want to put on a rear brake, I assume you also fitted a front brake to the bike as well.
Here thing is, you virtually don't need to have a rear brake, even if you have freewheel, you still don't need it.
80% stopping power came from front braking. The rest is your foot, weather you put it on tires or back pedaling to stop the bike or skiddzzzz.

I build a set of adapters for a "pista " frameset out of flat aluminum stock.
The two parts bolted together over the seat stays and brake bridge, with the bolts just inside the stays.
Using nylock nuts they were very secure.
The brake centerbolt put enough pressure on the center of the adapters to keep everything in place.
Customer was pleased with the outcome.

Maybe I’m missing something. Does the Pista frame set not have a rear brake mount? I bought my Pista complete and it came with both front and rear brakes. When I moved from 23c to 28c tires I had to play with the rear brake adjustments and find thinner pads due to clearance problems with the original setup.

No, there is no pre-drilled hole for a rear caliper brake.

I find that a front brake only gives me plenty of stopping ability. I don't ride when the streets are wet though.

You are right, some of the frames do have a rear brake bridge. Some of the older ones do not.
