Value of This Holdsworth Touring Bike?
For the Holdsworth Cognoscenti out there!
I know next to nothing about Holdsworth bicycles but am intrigued by this one (Mystral?) that is listed at a nearby estate sale. I see that it has a nice, old leather saddle, bar end shifters, and front/rear racks and lights for touring. Only have this one photo and don't have any other specs, size or other info. I suspect that it might be an early 80s model, judging by the decal on the downtime, but could easily be wrong?
What do you think is the value of this if properly refurbished or even restored?
Thanks!
The only photo that is available!

my goodness gracious!
one would require the visual powers of a Superman to be able to say much about the frame, languishing as it does beneath all of these...um...appurtenances
please post again if you can get seller to make some better images...
the Mistral model was not particularly a "touring" frame per se
it was the manufacturer's "maid of all work" sort of model - a "sports-tourer" in some parlances

My thoughts exactly!
Apperturnances everywhere one looks!
However, speaking of maids, is she a Bar Maid, Milk Maid, Maid of Honor or . . . . a Chambermaid?

Agreed!^. Looks to have a TA triple crank, Suntour bar-ends, and a mid 80’s rear wheel dynamo lighting system as well. That bike is a winner at $400 or less in my book, providing the frame isn’t dented

In addition to the goodies others have pointed out, it looks like there's a Silca Impero frame pump in matching color, Scott Matthauser finned brake pads (maybe?)
So, OP, tell us -- what was the asking price, and did you buy it?

I was sooooooo tempted to at least drive the 45 miles to attend the sale and check out the bike in person. Even though the bike was way too small, I liked everything on it including that rare Ideale 90 Special Competition saddle.
I spoke with the estate seller on the phone and she was very clear that it was a "rare English racer that isn't made anymore and that she was pricing it between $450 - 500." Of course, when one checks the tires, seatpost, stem, frame, etc. who knows what one finds that may chip down that final sales price.
In the end, decided not to attend the sale and instead just focus on the N+5 bikes that I have right now. Yes, bikes in the garage, bedrooms and until this weekend, the living room, too!
As a final footnote, I learned afterwards that the bike sold the first day of the 3 day estate sale. The seller would not tell me what it sold for.
Hopefully someone from the BF Community snagged it and we'll learn more in the weeks and months to come.

Probably sold for what they were asking, if it went on the first day. Wouldn't lose sleep over it at that price.
