Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Correct. I think the last time was when I got food poisoned(?) in the oughts.

That's a lot. As much as I drink on an indoor day.

That’s really weird. Link did not show in post but does show in quote. Plus it’s no longer the old French guy putting his car in the garage.

I call shenanigans.

Got out for a decent ride, though I had to cut it short on account of being such a good Samaritan - stopped to help a young roadie, maybe 15 years old or so, with a flat. He had the wheel off and the tube out, but didn't seem to have any way of inflating his tire - he had made a call to a friend that was supposedly on the way. Anyway, lent him the pump, watched him fumble with things for a while and then took over - 15 year old roadie arms are no match for a mini-pump, it seems. Seemed like a nice kid, though, and he said that he rides for Donkey Label, one of the local cycling apparel companies.

Tubes. What a pain in the ass.

Got done when I was suppose to, and got a seat on the earlier flight home. Looking like i’ll get to take The Ritchey out tonight.

Since I have to change the tube still on the c2, and the bike needs a good cleaning, plan is to take the chain of and give it a good cleaning, also plan on cleaning the cassette and the rest of the bike. Not sure if I will have the time to do all of this though.

In my three days off I have two cut two lawns, throw seed down, grocery shop, vacuum the house, go to eye doctor, take Amelia to a horse lesson, and then saturday go to a horse show. Plus make and pack my food, pack my bag to go back to work sunday.

It's great to take a relaxing 100-mile ride on your day off. An excellent way to recharge.
