I was on FIRE tonight! Got to the top of the big hill of the ride and tried to shift into my big ring, come to find out I was already in the big ring!

Maybe I should treat myself to a black bike. $2k for everything shown here except the brake calipers, but what a beauty.

I bought this at Bike shark. 28.6. I hope it fits and will work with my front derailer.

One time I made it to voir dire in a civil case I walked into a side room to be questioned. The judge's administrator or whatever thanked me for showing up, said both he and the judge had known my father and thought very highly of him, then dismissed me.

My wife was in denial over Covid and had a couple negative tests, tested positive this morning. No surprise. She last tested negative a week ago but has been showing symptoms even before that.

I got back home after the Holiday Lunch feeling full as a tick. You know, that feeling that you shouldn't really have eaten ALL of that dessert? Ooof.
I waited long enough after that to no longer feel like physical exertion would lead me to, as someone once said, "The Technicolor Yawn", and then thought I'd have a nice easy spin in Zwift land. I chose a 16 mile route, with a climb that I figured I'd just do at well below FTP, just Z2/Tempo. Turns out Zwift has added "PR Ghosts" - a personal Pacebot that does some segments with you, riding at the pace of your PR on that segment. So, when mine popped up, and was just doing 2.5w/kg, I figured, "What the hell?" and spun up to 2.6 and dropped it. Then I saw that it was catching me up, at >3 w/kg, so I had to do 3.1. Eventually it passed me, but I caught it at the line. So much for a nice, easy Z1/Z2 ride. At least I didn't barf.

My most recent package cleared customs on November 18, in DHL's possession, and disappeared. DHL has no record of ever having had it. Delivery times, here, have reached three weeks, even in the slow season. Prices at Amazon.com.mx are significantly higher than the same item at Amazon.com, even paying extra shipping from the USA. Things cross the border and are loaded onto the backs of mules, or possibly humans, walking.
The most recent package? A soft cover book.
It appears that not only Amazon, but all the online companies, have made no contingency plans to actually deliver those items they were so happy to sell. My wife ordered a tv from Costco and was given a 10-15 day delivery window. 15 days came and went, and they now have no idea. Likely months. Mexicans spend their lives waiting patiently in line. Nothing new to see here.
