It was fun to read about your "evolution"; it took you so long to finally get racing and you had to take some serious razzing.
Then, it was cool to read your race reports.
Did you ever try cyclocross (night vs day when compared to crits)?
Not yet. I might try it on my mountain bike this year. I would like to get a cross bike perhaps mainly for gravel. But if I do I'll certainly try cross.

Well to cap off this thread, going all the way from being curious about racing on the 33 to having NorCal Cycling actually do commentary on a cat 3/4 crit win for me. That's the peak. LOL.

I was watching the clip from the r/velo post and thought, well, I think the NorCal guys got it a bit wrong, in the lower levels it's okay to be further back late in the race. And you raced a perfect race.

Somehow I missed the vlog clip years ago. I am tempted to comment with a bookmark / time stamp "table of contents" or even type out what you say. I'm only a bit into it but it's great.

Thanks Carpe. Your videos on youtube were my first introduction to learning crit tactics via video, and had a big influence long before I discovered NorCal. Especially the importance of conserving energy in all possible ways until you need to use it. People underestimate that I think.
