Picked up a shiny Schwinn.

A chrome 1970 Paramount to be exact. Bought it off a good friend today. Getting ready to tear it down and do a full service, new tanwall tires and cloth bar tape are ordered. Not sure about the Brooks.

Very nice! If the saddle is splayed out, maybe try punching a few holes and lacing it up? I have done it to mine and in addition to making it a bit stiffer, it reduces the profile of the skirts and they no longer hit my thighs while pedaling.

Indeed quite nice. I also have a 1970 chrome P13-9, a little taller than yours. It came with Weinmann brakes but I threw Campy Record on it because it was an option for that year and I had it - so why not? A great ride and head-turner, you're going to love it.

Looks great!

Hmm, my eyes keep getting drawn to those RD pulleys, they really stand out compared to all that chrome.

Great looking Paramount! All Paramounts are nice but, I think the chrome ones look the best.

I am not sure, did the OEM chrome frames delete the top tube cable stops?

I like this way better.

cable guides can really snag on a buffing wheel
actually any braze on

I’m not an expert on this but my understanding is that the p13’s didn’t have the cable guides, while the P15’s do have the guides. (My 69 p13 doesn’t while my 73 P P15 does).

The P10s also had the top tube brake cable stops. However, I owned a '66 P13 and it did have brake cable stops. Sometime in the late '60s P13s transitioned to the Campagnolo cable guides.
