Hmmm, I get $87 for my location. Yeah, $173 is too steep. I just shipped my Lotus Competition frameset via Bikeflights for $21 (granted, from Salem, Oregon to Portland, Oregon).

Nishiki Interntaional NOS near Atlanta, GA $450

image 1 of 7>

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/bik/6068940272.html

This is an outstanding example of mid 80's Japanese road bicycle design! This bike is basically a new bike in near unused condition. Everything is original from the factory.....100% original, saddle, bar tape, cables, brake pads, tires, tubes......EVERYTHING!!!! This bike has minimal mileage and is immaculate! See the link below for a complete listing of installed components. Please include the word "crankset" in your email or text response, otherwise I will not reply....scammers! Thanks for looking.

Price: $450 or best offer

This one deserves (and needs) some love.

Jack Taylor Road Tandem Phil Wood Dura-Ace FD Sun Tour RD Campy / OBO - $499 (Saint Charles)

I don't have much back story for this tandem. It needs some parts and some work. The tires need to be replaced. No left shifter. Cables and housing need to be replaced. Paint is cracking. Some rust (shown)

It needs to find a good home, as it's just gathering dust here

Frame dimensions:
Head tube length: 15cm (without headset cups)
Front seat tube length (center-top): 63cm (54cm c-c)
Rear seat tube length (center-top): 54cm

Front derailleur: Shimano Dura-Ace
Rear derailleur: Sun Tour
Rear Shifter: Campagnolo
Rear hub brake: Phil Wood
Front hub: Phil Wood
Cantilever brakes: Mafac
Drop bar: Cinelli

No shipping. Local pickup only in Saint Charles, IL

Check my other listings!

Yeah, "just a 531 frame" - with relaxed angles and Nervex lugs. That's pretty darned grailly in my book. Even so, 4-figure price tags for a mass-produced bike like that is ridiculous, especially when it's not all there or needs assembly.

I love the chrome lugs and the geometry has some appealing features, but at the end of the day it is just a 531 frame and the $1000+ price tags are keeping me from owning one, even though it would be next on my list if it were priced similarly to other bikes of similar quality.

Wow. That's a steal for $500. I'd be all over it, but St Charles is too far away, and I already have one tandem that doesn't get ridden enough.

I wish that was a lot closer but thankfully it doesn't look my size, so I don't have to worry too much about it.

Shogun touring frame, 64cm. Could use a respray perhaps, but $140 shipped seems fairly reasonable...

Lots of 531 frames meet relaxed geometry standard...many of them better built and half the price.

Not to mention the Ross Signature Tom Kellogg, right?

Hey, thanks for the info. I know about the Treks. I've been studying the Motos, and I know about the Grand Sport - almost bought one that was white with blue stripes... there is a Grand Touring that was built with Vitus 172 (?), but the other Grand Tourings are basically gaspipe from what I've read.

I've actually got an early Miyata 1000 (non-splined) in a box that was brush-painted by the PO. All the braze-ons and holes are gummed up and it will require a complete stripping before I know what I have there. Next winter's project...

I really do have all the bikes I need... But there are so many more that I want!

I am pretty sure that he meant a Motobecane Grand Record. The Gran Sport was a Raleigh model between the Super Course and Competition in the late 60s/ early 70s.

A Tom Kellogg is in a completely different league from production bikes. Comparing something like that to an International is like comparing small batch, high quality beer to malt liquor.

When you mention Grand Record, don't forget to also include Grand Jubilee.
