Water Bottle Mounts

And these mounting straps were always included in the box or bag.

ZEFAL pulse Universal Mount Bottle Cage with Velcro Strap
UPC Code 7 68661 55039 4
Cost is about $8.50 and it is typically found inside Walmart and Target stores in my area

This is a great simple way to add a bottle cage mount on to any bicycle without existing cage mounts.

I have installed more than a twenty of these on to vintage bicycles BUT I SHOULD WARN YOU THAT
FOR PERFECT, NO WORRIES, FLAWLESS OPERATION, You need to use 3M SuperWeatherStripping Adhesive
so that the bottle cage does not wiggle/slide around/slide down.
You can purchase a small tube of 3M SuperWeatherStripping Adhesive at any Auto Parts Chain Store (Auto Zone, Advance, O'Reillys, NAPA, Pep Boys...etc)

I have a couple of these and they are awesome. I've used them on a seat post and set of handlebars. I like that you can tighten it quite a lot without damaging/crushing whatever it is you are attaching it to.

Stem bag is another option.

Start with two big bottles to begin with, and it might help. The Zefal magnum, the newer model, holds 32oz. Two of those can get me 60 miles.

That's a picture from Amazon, so I don't know if there are steering issues with that setup. Very short stems might be problematic with those bags, but I've never heard of anyone complain about that.

Thanks. In the image it looks like each bottle is snug against the top tube. I was wondering how one steered the bike with such a set up.

Cheers

I found a inexpensive, decent-looking clamp on ebay, but it looked to be too small for my 31.8mm handlebars.
I figure there's gotta be some decent, cheap options out there, but I'm not seeing them. As always, any help, advice, warnings, points-in-the-right-direction,etc, are all much appreciated.....
back or fanny pack
or seat bag with bottle holder.

If you are running a dehumidifier on your bike it should be pulling about a liter of water out of the air an hour, depending on the climate. Wouldn't that obviate the need for additional water bottles?

This doesn't specifically address seat post or handlebar mounting, but Wolf Tooth makes a system that allows you to connect multiple bottles to a single set of frame mounts.

How is the bottle cage attached to the clamps?

Each clamp goes over the section of the bottle cage that has a hole for the mounting bolt.

The clamps are strong and tight. They aren't going anywhere. This setup is 35 years old.

How cheap are we talking? I'll assume you want it pretty cheap if amazon not good enough. You could probably get a cheap broken down bike on craigslist that has one and cannibalize and flip it, might even make a profit especially if it has other parts better than what you have now to swap out like good tires or wheels or whatever. Also nearly free get a plastic bag and some zip ties.

Thanks everyone
The Minoura under the seat may work. You can keep the Topeak bag in place.
The wolftooth double bottle looks very promising too. Will look into these possibilities.

I have looked at Wheel up and other bags that have an attached bottle holder. My concern was how much of the seat post has to be free for it to attach since the bags are vertical and the other concern is the position of the rear light. Ideal thing is a bag that you can
replace the Topeak with in just a couple of minutes when you are going for a long ride

The double bottle saddle carriers( Velo Champion) may interfere with the saddle bag. (I guess the bag could be moved to the front-- has tools, tube, gas cylinders, patches etc)
Will consider dehumidifier since it is my wife carrying it and not me....

Trying no not put it in the front like the Moosecreek although it may end up being that way.
