What year is the 520?

Not interested in alum. frames.

I have a 1982 Trek 311 in both 21" and 22.5." I dont like either fit. On the 21" I've got a 100mm Nitto Technomic tall stem.
I dont like the standover height of the 22.5". I feel it is too high for me.

I have and am offering for trade a 311 and a 520 that are 22.5". Also a 560 that i measure as 23.5".

I've measured the 560 I am offering for trade and I measure the center tube as 23.5" which is approx 63cm. If anyone needs more info, feel free to ask. Don't know the year. It has 700c wheels. Anyone interested in the bike should be approx 6'4 to 6.6'.

Maybe I missed it, but what size is the frame you're trading?

I have this Gazelle Champion Mondial AA 57cm frame. I would say that it has typical cosmetic blemishes in the paint but no dents or dings. Campagnolo drop outs. What I would like is an early 90s lugged steel Trek 930/950/970/990. My dream is a Trek 990 but would settle for one of the lesser models. I might be open to other trades as well.

Ben,
I have reached the point where I am down to my last race frame from 1985. It is one of 1185 made by Trek and the only 670 model they ever made for the race models. Seat tube is 57cm and race/criterium geometry.
Since I have been experiencing shrinking human disease it is too tall for me to even stand over. I have had it re-coated at Pro Kote Indy in a candy red and pictures are in the 760 appreciation thread. I currently have four bikes in the shop for myself including a Patteli professional, a Rossin, a Guercioti, and a Masi that will fit my newer small stature. I would like to move this along to another BF member who will appreciate it and build it to ride and not flip. The hard part for me is the cost of the re-coat and the cost of frame tube decals. Please advise me on the way to move forward with sending this piece of history along to another member. Again, Thanks, Mad Honk

@Mad Honk, I know about how backs compress, but I didn't know our legs get shorter. How does that happen?

Tom, at my last wellness check I had lost 2+ inches from when I was drafted! Looked into this a bit and legs bones and skull (which with spine determine height) remain pretty much unchanged while the problem is spine as you said is the culprit. I look for shorter TT and stems.

In the past 2 years I have definitely lost height at a quicker rate My Ochsner road bike, 57 cm stated but more like a 56, is a bit too big for me, but I have always been comfortable on it with the way the components are set up. Now, the fit is still ok, except the top tube is now a bit too close to my crotch. I have now lost 1/2 inch in height. I think it is all from losing muscle and bones/joints being not as strong or stable from the aging/usage process. Gravity, of course, takes it's toll. Also, for me, I am pretty sure spinal surgeries are a factor.

So, anybody want to make some kind of trade/deal for a really nice riding Ochsner that is in very good shape? Several options doable and pictures available. You are welcome to PM me .

I REALLY wanted this to fit me but it’s too big. It’s in great shape. Would trade for an equally nice 56cm square frame.
60cm ST ctc.
58 TT ctc.

WTT a 61 cm Fuji America (82-83) for 58-56cm Fuji America, Fuji Finest, Raleigh Competition or such low trail cantidate. Just found the bike but will post pictures as I clean the frame up. It looks to have good chrome and "beausage" fitting a transcontinental veteran.

62 CM Davidson Impulse

EDIT: NLA I traded it locally for a Follis.

ORIGINAL POST:

I bought this after responding to a late night CL post with a blurry poor quality photo and a description that amounted to little more than “bicycle for sale”. I though I could just make out “Davidson” on the bottom tube and while I guessed (correctly) that it was too large for me I figured the parts alone would be worth the asking price.

Condition as seen in the photos, nearly all of the wear appears to be the result of careless storage. The integrated bottom bracket cable guides have some rust. The bike had a full Dura Ace 7400 Groupo and all featured either ‘89 or ‘90 date codes.

Willing to ship, located in San Diego, California.

Looking to trade for a frame and fork. I love French bicycles, touring bikes, early mountain bikes, really most non racing road bicycles. I Typically ride a 56 to 60 cm frame and am not concerned about trading for a frame and fork of Equal Value, let me know what you have. Happy to talk bicycles and provide additional information.

In the FS thread but also would consider trades. Have a blue/grey 1983 Trek 500 (62cm), and a lavender/custom 1987 Cannondale ST600 (62cm).

Not that I want to add frames to my world, but would consider all sort of my 2 for your 1 type deals. I need 56-57, but 55 in a pinch. What do you have, I am just wanting these two beauties to find a good home.

Merckx and Bianchi

Hi all, I have two framesets that I am looking to trade.

The first is a 56cm (ctc) Merckx Corsa Extra in Motorola team colors and Columbus TSX tubing. It has some paint scratches and a patch of rust under the top tube, but no dents or dings that I can detect. For this one, I am primarily interested in a 56-58cm high-end frameset from a smaller Japanese builder (Cherubim, 3Rensho, Zunow, Nagasawa, etc).

Second, I have a 57cm Bianchi Squadra in electric rose color and Columbus formula two tubing. The frame has no damage that I can detect, and while the paint has a few nicks and scuffs, it is in good shape for its age. For this one, I am looking for a 50-52cm road or touring frameset for my partner. She would like something that is relatively light in weight (at least compared to her Surly) and can accommodate a rear rack.

I am happy to upload more pictures and serial numbers if anyone is interested. I am open to shipping but would love to find someone local in Southern California. Thanks for looking!
